| The Distinguished Psychologist of the Year Award has been granted to Alan Entin, Ph.D. for his distinguished, sustained service to the practice of psychology. Dr. Entin was involved in division governance from its inception with The American Society of Psychologists in Private Practice (ASPPP). His elected positions include Division President, Member-At-Large, and Council Representative. Dr. Entin has also contributed in programming, membership, marketing, disability determinations, fellows, and as historian. He has served on the APA Public Information Committee (PIC), Committee on APA Relations CODAPAR), and as Chair of the Executives Roundtable of Practice Divisions. His other honors include National Academies of Practice (Chair), Karl Heiser Presidential Award, and Fellow of the Academy of Clinical Psychology (ABPP). He has also served as President of the Virginia Psychological Association, as President of Division 43 (Family Psychology) and Division 46 (Media Psychology). Dr. Entin's pioneering use of photographs in psychotherapy contributed to his earning of fellow status. His photographs of Division events appear regularly in the IP. | |
