Division 42 Now Offering Home-Study CE Programs |

Psychologists in most states are required to obtain continuing education credits for each license renewal period. While the number of credits required may vary, most states will allow at least a portion of the credits to be met through home-study courses. Obviously, home-study courses have several advantages – they can be completed at your convenience, you don’t have to miss time from the office, and you can select topics of interest. Well, Division 42 has stepped forward to meet this need of our members. Through the combined efforts of the Niche Guide and CE committees, 10 home-study courses are now available for CE credit. Division 42 is an official APA-approved CE sponsor the CE courses should be good in any state that accepts APA approved credits. Each course consists of a set of objectives, the resource material from the niche guide, and a set of post-test questions. Upon successful completion of the test, participants will receive 1 CE credit for each course. The first 10 home-studies are available at present. Additional guides will be developed into home-study courses and all new guides developed in the future will be developed as home-study courses. The list of guides currently available appears on the following page on the order form. Rates have been priced competitively and there is a significant price differential for members and non-members. The Home-Study courses can be ordered by filling in the order form and either mailing the form in (along with a check or credit card payment) or faxing to the Division office (along with credit card payment). We plan to also enable taking orders via the Division 42 Website in the near future. Please share this information with your colleagues who are interested in additional opportunities to earn CE credits. In fact, you can give them a copy of the order form. You can also encourage them to join the division, in which case they will benefit from the reduced rates for members! By the way, we are interested in suggestions for future CE home-study courses.
