Dear Division 42 Colleagues and Friends,

Welcome to 2005. It’s great to be serving as your President. I look forward to a productive year together as we work to advance the practice of psychology. If you have any ideas and input for me and our Board members please forward them to me at drjbarnett1@comcast.net

Division 42 will hold its Mid-Winter Board meeting on January 29 & 30, 2005 in Hollywood, California. To review our working documents for this meeting please visit the President’s Corner on the Division 42 website’s Members’ side at www. division42.org . There you’ll find a draft of the agenda for the meeting and a recently updated version of the Division’s Priorities document. The later details all the Division’s activities and initiatives. Please forward all ideas, suggestions, and concerns to me prior to the Board meeting. I welcome your input.

To support several of my Presidential Diversity Initiatives I submitted a grant application to APA’s Committee on Division/APA Relations (CODAPAR) along with the presidents of Divisions 45 (Ethnic Minority Affairs) and 17 (Counseling Psychology). I’m pleased to report that our proposal was accepted and we received a $2,500 grant to support these diversity initiatives. A copy of the complete grant application detailing the projects for 2005 is available at the President’s Corner of the Division 42 website as well.
