Dear Division 42 members:

Bienvenue, Bienvenidos, Welcome to Division 42’s Convention Program. Please join us in New Orleans for superb sessions. You will enhance your practice, obtain continuing education credits, and enjoy yourself. Our presidential mini convention on Expanding your practice: Diversity, Creativity and Spirituality, promises to invigorate you and awaken your inner artist.

Besides our extensive line up of symposia, workshops and posters, we have a terrific Hospitality Suite Program. Come by for breakfast or lunch, and participate in informal discussion sessions and social events with colleagues and friends. Several division 42 Board members will be available for a chat at a Come and Greet session on Thursday, August 10 at 4:00 pm in our Hospitality Suite.

This year we celebrate resilience. A special Reception Honoring Professional Psychologists who Volunteered their services during the 2005 Hurricane will be held on Thursday August 10, 2006 at the New Orleans Marriot Hotel Mardi Grass Ballroom, 6:00pm – 8:00pm.

Come and globalize yourself. Meet our colleagues in Division 45 (Ethnic Minority Psychology) during an interdivisional social hour on Friday August 11 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the New Orleans Marriot Hotel, Bissonte Room

Please plan to attend Division 42’s Membership Appreciation Meeting on Saturday August 12 from 4:00pm to 4:50pm in the Hilton Hotel Grand Salon 9.

Our famous Division 42 Social Hour is a tradition not to be missed. Join us on Saturday, August 12, 5:00 — 7:00pm p.m. at the Hilton Hotel Grand Salon 19 and 22. Enjoy great food, meet old friends and make new ones. Read the work of our student poster award winners and browse through the books published by Division 42 members.

This great convention has been developed by our Division 42 program Chair, Anabel Bejarano and our Associate Program Chair, Tammy Martin-Causey. Gracias to Anabel and Tammy for an extraordinary job!
